Shaping a Beautiful, Sustainable and Inclusive Future
Launched in 2021, the New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a creative and cross-disciplinary initiative inviting us all to shape a future that is sustainable, inclusive and beautiful for our eyes, minds, and souls.
Inspired by the original 1919 Bauhaus movement, NEB adds a cultural and human dimension to the European Green Deal, blending aesthetics with purpose and promoting harmony with nature and society.
The EIT Community NEB brings this vision to life through hands-on support for local projects.
As part of the EIT Community – Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem – it spans sectors like climate, culture and creativity, digital, food, mobility, and manufacturing. Together, we explore and scale new ways of living, putting people’s needs first and backing solutions through startups, citizen engagement, and capacity-building programs.
Foster Innovation: Support the development and scaling of solutions that align with NEB values through programs like the Catalyse NEB accelerator .
Engage Communities: Empower citizens to actively participate in the transformation of their environments, ensuring that changes reflect local needs and aspirations.
Promote Collaboration: Unite diverse stakeholders across disciplines to co-create solutions that are not only functional but also beautiful and inclusive.
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an independent body of the European Union established in 2008 to strengthen Europe’s ability to innovate.
By integrating education, research, and innovation, the EIT fosters dynamic, long-term partnerships known as Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), which address pressing global challenges.
